I mean is it Ben?
As answered before, this account will be handled by many people at YoYoFactory, if you have a question for a specific person just direct it in your question
Paul Kerbel (as reigning Champ and current Mexico Champion) probably starts as favorite. Luis beat Paul, Zach and Anthony at 44 Clash, so he must be considered. Gentry took down Zach, Anthony and all comers at Cal States so that puts him up there. Any players mentioned on their day are unbeatable. Add Harold, Pali and a bunch of other guns your guess is as good as ours!
A couple of reasons. One, we lost the ability to promote elements of the contest despite the fact we payed specifically for them, this being 5A. We also could potentially be at risk of legal action from sponsoring the event. Its like putting your head under a guillotine.... Its nice the much larger company who holds the lever says they wont drop the blade but what happens when they feel threatened and change their mind? Not a gamble we want to take. Also we lost all faith in the contest organizer. The event was stagnating. It had long lost the excitement and appeal the crown of yoyo competitions should be, so we made a stand. After we ended sponsorship of the contest we still supported it, but ultimately this was where we withdrew any formal support. Informally, we still support the event by getting one of the largest teams to the contest and our video coverage of the event still gets the other sponsors logos in front of more people than contest organizers get in the door.

Whats the story behind the JK?
It was ordered to be the second in a line of yoyos we were creating for a sponsored player. He left the team with multiple thousand yoyos ordered. We did a decent job of distancing him from the product which was tough considering how the yoyos were branded! The yoyos were ok, lots of b grades. In the end it was a tedious exercise with no real benefit for anyone... So it was made once and is now part of history
John is going to school at MIT! we miss his yoyoing but know he will always be a player and look forward to next time he drops some amazing tricks on us.
What do you guys have to say to those throwers who get their first ding on their high end metal yyf throw and get disappointed about it?
It happens.... I'm still bummed when I remember my first ding :-/
Are you going to bring back the G5 this year? I heard you were from some people but want proof. Will it still come hubstacked/z-stacked? I want a high quality hubstacked throw and want to know if I should find one used or wait for a new run.
That's the plan. Catalyst is shipping with z stacks too this week. It's smoother with regular stacks (included) but still super fun with z stacks
