Should I go with the Superstar or a Genesis?

Devin Flores
Both great yoyos, used by competitors at the top end. I think most would agree the Genesis is more all-round performance, superstar appeals to a more specific set of needs (faster playing). So if you are asking, Genesis is the best fit.

does all the collector boxes have the same yoyos?

Same yoyos, the aviators for example are 1-1 color samples tho so they will vary. Each space cowboy is numbered.

Is the Gentry Sig a prototype?

Not in the sense of the word no. We tested it fully and gentry approved the design while in China. It's a production item, produced for the occasion

if one buys two $50 mystery boxes does that double their chances of getting the grand prize pack?

I guess, but it isn't really a lottery worth buying tickets is it?

While we're talking about yoyo names, if you ever decide to make a Jason lee sig, a nameless symbol might do really well. The "infinity" symbol is perfect. The name works on multiple levels (his trick creation), and the marketing is simple, modern and effective being just a symbol.

We have a trademark on spinfinity as a yoyo, unfortunately it hasn't been released yet. Maybe 2015. It is electro-pulse driven motorized. Is the world ready?

Are these caps on the prototype you put in the YYF x YYE Mystery Box? If they are, can we remove them? How? And is it possible without a suction cup? Because I don't have any that are small enough that are lying around :p

They are caps. I wouldn't ever want to try putting them back in so if you get them out don't expect them to go back

What colorways are you thinking about for the new Gentry Stein signature throw? I'm hoping it's some solid colors like the Shutter (love the Aqua on that, hope you can recreate that) with maybe some splashes or washes :o If you got any runs, could you show some pictures of it?

Yo, it's plastic!

What exactly is this? A black plastic Super G, it seems to me. Or rumored on the YYE forums that I've seen, a prototype called the "Regen". Very cool. Love it better than the Shutter already, honestly, even though it's plastic. It's amazing that you let it come with a Center Trac bearing as well.

It actually costs more to make than a shutter.

i know youve gotten this question a million times but my bearing is stuck on the bearing removing tool. i tryed pushing it down and it wont budge. and how it's flush with the bottom of the tool....wat do?

So what part is it stuck on, if you got it down it slides right? So there must be a lip keeping it on. File the lip down and it should slide off

it seems to me that the loop 900 is kind of fragile. Is the 1080 more durable?

We did get better yes, which was one of the reasons for the name change. That being said, elite players will break yoyos .

What are the differences between the ProtoStar and the NorthStar? They are very similar in shape aside from the sides.... I was wondering if anything else?

Not much. Northstar was made to satisfy the demands of a player, basically his version. We keep a color available now but typically we just make protostars. Weight wise you will see some new protostar options in 2015

does gentry have a fear of losing bearings? because the shutter is by far the hardest yoyo to get the bearing out x___X and it squeaks when you put it together and take apart.

You know they vary a little. We test to a range and at the tightest they are tight, but these ones are also typically the smoothest

Are you guys planning to release more too H.O.T colours? Maybe some special editions? I'm hesitating to buy one, because the current colours are quite boring.

TooHOT? Sure, but the new colors will cost a little more. Ask for pictures Wednesday!
