What is panj isnaan? Is there a specific method for doing it?

mandeep
As far as I know it is washing of hands (2), feet (2) and face (1) = 5 Panj.
It is important to be clean on the outside but don't forget to wash away your Kaam, Krodh, Lobh, Moh, Ahankaar (Lust, Anger, Greed, Attatchmeny, Ego), that's the difficult Panj Ishnaan!

VJKK VJKF. We have a number of Gutke at home and I noticed differences in spelling throughout them and unsure which is correct. Do you have any recommendations for a nitnem gutka that you know is correct?

VJKK VJKF! Hanji there are many mistakes in many Gutka Sahibs which is sad really. The Gutka Sahib below is very accurate ji, took many years to put it together accurately!

VJKK VJKF, I recently brought a khajana to carry my Gutka with me so I can always read my paat. If your out and about and need the loo is disrespecting bani by taking the khajana into the toilet with you? Thanks. VJKK VJKF

VJKK VJKF! I wouldn't take Gutka Sahib into toilet for Satkaar, just leave it outside ji.

In the 12 weeks, 11 gurus I saw an amazing amitdhari sevadaar, are they also helping with the questions on ask.fm?

A few of them, not many.

What does it mean when we say: Sahibzaaday Ghori Chureh?

Ghori Chareh means to climb on a horse. Used poetically saying just like a groom would get on a horse to get married, the Sahibzade climbed on the horse of Shaheedi and married death.

VJKK VJKF. Could we do Tu Hi Tu Hi Simran?

Vjkk, Vjkfateh,
Simran translates to remembering God. Chant what ever makes you connect but if you are Amritdhari then don't forget about doing abhyas of Gur-manthre & Mool-manthre given by Panj Pyaare.

In the rehat on sikhi to the max I saw things like don't wear a cap, don't have jhoot, don't associate with apostates non believers etc this can't be right can it? Not in my Sikhi where everyone is equal. Are some just applicable to that time?

Why would we want to wear a cap when we've been blessed with a beautiful royal turban telling the world we belong to the King of Kings Guru Gobind Singh ji.
I personally feel Jhoot is a good way to practice hygiene.
In regards to associating with apostates I feel comes down to our interpretation. For me I would interpret that as being careful not to associate with those who may influence me by breaking me from the Guru as Guru Sahib says the effect of Sangat is very deep.

VJKK VJKF, Is it a must for a sikh to take Amrit? And another thing, I see some amritdharis wearing makeup, is that acceptable?

In regards to taking Amrit please watch this 4min video:

In regards to makeup Akaal Takht doesn't mention anything but I think it comes down to personal development & is linked to contentment.

Are either human or animal euthanasia allowed as per sikhi?

There is nothing mentioned direct but Bani points towards leaving to Vaheguru

Hmm . How bout like for eg. We ask vaheguruji something and tells Him if the next i don't get so and so is okay. And i get like what i wanted and now doesnt mean vaheguru won't make me get the next right. You know what i mean?

Don't understand your question, please simplify

I usually say the "deda data ek hai..." prayer before eating, but what about when we drink water ? I just say "waheguru" as I'm unsure of what the right prayer is...

That's fine...the idea is to remember Vaheguru

After listening to chandi di vaar, I feel somewhat afraid for some reason. Is this just the power of the bani cleansing my subconscious?

Be Nirbhao (without fear), its could be that or you being afraid of what could happen after listening to that Bani, just get strength from the Bani ji.
PS

VJKK VJKF. Thanks for answering the question regarding party's. What about if we was to go party's for a short while, when the alcohol etc is served we leave is that ok? Thank you

VJKK VJKF! Exactly what I'd recommend if you have to go, just go for a while to show your face and then leave ji.

Does the SGGS specifically mention homosexuality or do we draw our own interpretation?

Guru Granth Sahib Ji does not mention homosexuality specifically. However we can draw conclusions from Gursikhs that are connected with Vaheguru.

Is the word 'baba' another word of God in sikhism?

The word 'Baba' has been used in different contexts in Gurbani.
1. Vaheguru (God)
2. People of the world
3. Speaking to a Jogi on some occasions. (Wise one).

I seee. Thank you ji. Another thing is, in Sggs, it is written that God is love and compassion. God is compassion in which way ji?

We make so many mistakes in a day but even still Vaheguru is so Dayalu (compassionate) that he blesses us with breath and keeps us alive!!

China is close to punjab did the gurus ever visit? Are there sikhs in China?

Hanji - Guru Nanak Dev Ji travelled to China and Tibet. They would call him in their own language - 'Baba Foosa!'
There are a few Gurdwarey in China and Sikhs do live there too.

Is there something a sikh should do when a baby is born? Can the father read Japji Sahib and prepare amrit with pitase and give to baby? Was there something that Sikhs used to do but has been lost through time.

Yes put water in iron bowl put pathasae and father read Jap Ji Sahib whilst mixing with iron kirpan up & down, put 5 drop with end of kirpan into baby's mouth and for mother to drink remaining.
Start a Sehaj Part - take hukamnama use first letter to name child.
Ensure that the mother & child listen to every word of Sehaj Part.

Vjkk vjkf . Waheguru watches us all the time right ji? He wouldn't let our hardwork to go to vain. Am i right ji ?

Vjkk, Vjkfateh,
Guru Arjun Dev Ji's Bani on ang 784 says:
It is the Lord's natural way to purify sinners; He does not overlook even an iota of service.

How do you make yourself want to do nitnem daily, hoe do you make sure you don't fall

Nitnem is a blessing not something we can just do. And we don't keep Nitnem, Guru Sahib themselves keep Nitnem/Rehat for us.
Its like - we go to work/school etc. and sometimes we wake up and don't feel like going but we know we HAVE TO go, so in that situation we kill our mind. When it comes down to Nitnem we should do the same! Just do Ardaas for Guru's help ji.
