how does advanced scout play, floaty, stable?

Fast, stable, a lil' bit of float but it feels more solid than the Bonfire. -Steve

Your yoyos ship with fat Kitty String, right? What are the benefits of it? I mean how does it affect play?

Plays great. Holds its shape well, lasts a while, nice colors, soft on the hands. -Steve

Nah, wasn't rude at all. It was actually a really insightful question....I think people mostly just ready stuff and accept it as fact or fiction immediately. Nice to know that someone else lets themselves get rolled up in the details, like I do. ;) Cheers! -Steve

Should I put CTX or a Konkave bearing in a Gnarwhal 2, What are the differences? Thanks!

I personally have never liked Konkave bearings, so I might be the wrong one to ask. I put CTXs in everything....the flat bottom lets the string layers move around each other while still giving you the benefits of a centered bearing. With a Konkave they tend to bunch up and all pile on top of each other. -Steve

If I find Bonfire as the most suitable yoyo for me, which one do you think I would prefer, scout or orca?

If you're already on the Bonfire train, then the Scout is a good next step. -Steve

Do you keep your strings wound tight around your return tops when you're not using them? I've discovered that by leaving the string slightly loose, it makes the strings and response last much longer

I just wind up my return tops and throw them in a basket on the counter. -Steve

Didn't Steve Brown get hired on at CLYW just last year? Why is it when he answers questions on this Ask.fm page he speaks as if he has been at CLYW for years?

Yes I did. I know, it's kinda weird sometimes, right? Feels weird to me too.
Basically though, when I'm answering questions here I'm answering on behalf of CLYW which means answering questions about things that happened before I came on board. I experimented a little bit early on with tone and verb tense to try and figure out the best way to answer things, and it ultimately just works out better to answer "as CLYW". Sometimes you folks ask questions that I don't know the answer to and I have to do some internet digging for the answers (since you're obviously not gonna, ha ha) or bug Chris about it, but for the most part the bulk of the questions I get are about current stuff...there is actually very little that people ask about CLYW from before I started working here.
But yeah, I feel you. Sometimes it's weird for me, too. -Steve

Please do more Instagram/Facebook etc. contests. I don't have CLYW yoyo. It's my dream to have one, but I don't have money for it. internet contests are only chance for me to have CLYW return top. Do you have plans for new contest?

Just checked and it turns out our domain provider got hit with a big, fat DDOS. They're clearing it up now. Ugh. -Steve

It's loading for me (slowly) but not for Chris. Might be that Shopify (which hosts our current site) is doing some system updates that are causing spotty connection issues? They tend to do them during non-peak hours and right now is definitely "non peak" traffic time for us. Check back later if you're having a hard time connection. Sorry for the hassle! -Steve
