Steinbeck shows the contrast between George and Lennie when he describes there physical features.'George being a short man with sharp features, whereas Lennie is portrayed as being 'shapeless of face' The contrast is also showed mentally as George is a smart, fast witted man whereas Lennies a retard

Steinbeck uses historical features to engage the readers by refering to the great depression amd how it is hard to find work. He descrines the struggle it would have been by using the characters George and Lennie.

othello is made out as a hero in the start of the play, but as the play progresses he is seen more as a villian. His anger builds up eventually causing him to kill desdemona all because of a lie.

Gillard uses emotive language for affect in his article.'she was shot for daring to go to school' this tells us how bad the education and schools are in that area. This also engages the reader by making them feel sorry for he girl and other children in that area because they wont get any education.
