I think it’s the other way around: I befriend people after they initially write me off as a cold weirdo. Only people who bother to push past my strange mannerisms & anxiety and decide that I’m worth it become my friends.

Would you rather have an electrical car or a regular one?
At this point I’d rather never own a car again and just rent when I need one, but I have kids who gotta get to their grandparents’ house from time to time. My current car is gas-powered and it’s 7 years old. If it dies, I’d love to go electric.

I did a lot of acting in high school and I loved it, which I think directly informs my life as an English teacher in a foreign country: I’m performing for an audience and I need to keep their attention.

I grew up in New York as a nerd with few friends who loved science so I’ve gotta go with Peter Parker. I love that as soon as he got super powers he started brainstorming ways to use his new gifts to make a living, only to immediately learn the hard way that helping people should be his priority.

Instead of buying a can of soda with lunch each day at work, this week I tried buying a big bottle of soda and drinking it for three days. It worked in the sense that I saved money, but by the third day it was kinda flat and I felt ridiculous chugging from a 1.5L plastic bottle. 😅

Short hair is a better look for *everyone* but literally zero girls need my opinion on this matter. Long-hair lovers, you do you.
What’s the last time you went to a library?
We have a library at work! It’s not open all the time and it’s aimed at kids, but I like going in there from time to time and just looking through the books and thinking about how I could use them with my students.

my mom, though we use FaceTime so it’s not technically “on the phone” in the traditional sense. Still, it’s a live, remote conversation and she gets to see her grandkids almost weekly.

I work with kids and live with two of them and they shout A LOT, but not necessarily out of anger or fear. They’re just super loud! But if we’re talking adults...I had a coworker unload on me a few years ago at my old job. She was frustrated that I didn’t finish preparing flash cards that she asked for. It was intense, and she carried on to the point that the principal yelled at HER for making a scene in the office.
I remember bringing it up during one of our last chats because I thought she resented me for my mistake and she laughed it off. It was a little bit reassuring though I’ll never forget that rage explosion.
