don’t put all your eggs in one basket. don’t lose yourself trying to appeal to them. don’t change for them. don’t throw everything / everyone else away for them.

i think it taught me that i need to communicate exactly what i need in a relationship before i get really invested. otherwise i don't speak up about what i need mid-relationship for fear of my person being upset with me and the resentment builds from there.
