hhhhaha. I sorta vaguely modelled it after a rooster comb, so if you wanna get technical it should probably feel like that. But if it helps you sleep better at night we can also say it just feels like nice regular dreadlocks feel. To be honest it never comes up as important, so the canon answer is "don't think about it too hard."
So KC's world is relatively futuristic compared to our's right? Then I have an important question.... Does anime exist in the world of Kidd Commander? (I know we saw Star Guardian Sunny, but that was live action I think?)
Television exists for them about like it does for us, so the answer is YEAH DEFINITELY FOR SURE. There're one or two main characters coming up whose wardrobes are like 60% anime shirts. Although I suppose the hair in KC's anime isn't considered as impressive as ours, given how so many of the actual denizens carry themselves.

The stars were a side effect of Crow fucking up and starting the apocalypse! So before that they were just what it says on the paper: a pair of brothers, a family friend (who eventually married one of the brothers), and a cousin.

actually informative answer: They either chose their names or were given new ones after a significant event in their development, pretty common for powerful people in this universe. They kept their original first names as Crow and Raven intentionally because they liked being known as each other's twin. Corvid names were a family tradition, which is why Raven named his daughter Rook.
