Not on every aspect. I did everything on my own and it was a first. There were tons of things that I could improve but at the time, it was all I could do on my own. Not saying this as an excuse but as an explanation. There is nothing to excuse anyway, it would be stupid as I am not a contractor =). It was more of a sentimental burst out rather than a commercial project. So, on that regard, yes, I am happy.
Now that I am done puking my boiling thoughts, I can focus on improving things that were flawed in its production for the second album. Like the sound or financial planning etc.
There are things that I am happy and things that I knew from day one that needed improvement. This time, I am trying to avoid such pitfalls.
I am not someone who sees things eye to eye with the commercial media regarding production and all though. Therefore, even if I improve many aspects of the production, it may still be somewhat different from what media may care for. However, it will be better. It has to be. Otherwise, it is pointless to continue.
I read a review somewhere recently. It says the production of Neverland albums were better. First of all, the review was a really sincere and great one, that has to be said, but I disagree about the production. In means of power? Maybe, yes. In means of mixing? No. Ophidia's mix was horrible imho, due to unrelated reasons with the engineer at the time, that lead to Neverland's downfall, as well as Dreamtone's eventually.
Reversing time was better but we, as musicians, were not that good at the time.
Regarding artist performances, I believe my guests delivered quite nicely. This is a very subjective matter and people may not like what they hear from those artists as their ears usually search for something similar to what they are doing with their own bands. I sometimes ask for the same thing, but sometimes don't.
So, all in all, these are my thoughts regarding Skies Fall.
I am fond of what I have created but I am most certainly aware that there are things to improve. Tons of them.
