What is turning point that has made you a practicing Muslim ? Or you were practicing from the very beginning ?
Firstly, not really sure what you mean by 'practicing', because I can't really judge whether I'm a 'good' muslimah or not, or the state of my heart - only Allah {swt] can :$
But, if you mean as to if I try my best to abide by Islaam's principles, manners and so-forth; I've always tried my best to. Alhamdulillah I've been raised within a practicing family (yes, and even though we're practicing doesn't mean we're boring, we do have a load of fun - just clarifying because of weird stereotypes :P) so I've always been surrounded by Islam, and the love of Allah and the love of the Deen has been instilled in my since young and I'm so grateful and thankful for that Alhamdulillah ♥
Although, of course, no one is perfect, I am a sinner, I commit sins - I've had hiccups and rough times over the years - May Allah forgive me and pardon me for my sins and allow me never to return to them again, Ameen ♥

There is a strange sadness about today -
It's not the kind that leaves you empty, or lonely or even wanting. It's the still kind, the kind that comes from a certain level of understanding - even acceptance
I looked at this photo today, and every time I did I found tears fill my eyes. It was a sunset of a beach. Stunning. And above it the ayah: Rabbanaa maa khalaqta haadhaa baatilan subhaaanak [O Lord, you have not created all this for nothing, Glory be to you]
And that's just it. All of this. The sadness, the accidents, the smiles, the peace, the pain, the love, and the sacrifice: it's not for nothing. It's not without purpose. It's not a mistake, some sort of oversight or a random course of events.
I looked at the image and suddenly I was filled with such deep nostalgia. For a time, I have no memory of.
"And (remember) when your Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their loins, their seed (or from Adam's loin his offspring) and made them testify as to themselves (saying): "Am I not your Lord?" They said: "Yes! We testify," lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection: "Verily, we have been unaware of this." [7:172]
I was overcome with this feeling of missing someone. Missing Him [swt]. Missing being with him. Missing a time that was or will be. A time so certain, it is as if it has already happened. I guess, that's why when Allah talks about the hereafter in the Qur'aan, he always uses the past tense.
When you fall in love with a work of art, you die to meet the artist. I am a student of the galleries of Pacific sunsets, full moon rises on the ocean, the clouds from an aeroplane, autumn forests in Raleigh, and first fallen snows.
And, I'm dying to meet THE Artist.
"Some faces that day, will be radiant, looking at their Lord" [75:22-23]

At first I thought maybe it was only a reminder
to remember our meeting with you
But, then I thought how I wish I could die before my death
Have a soul that is no longer in this life - even whilst the body must remain
A heart that is freed from the shackles of the Dunya - even whilst the legs must walk the streets
Have a nafs that is in complete rest and Satisfication with its Lord - even whilst the crumbling shell remains
A soul that is already there - even before it is there
A soul detached
A Nafs "Mutma'innah" - in the truest, deepest and realest sense [Quran - 89:27]
For as the great scholar (Rahimahullah) said "He who does not enter the paradise of this life does not enter the paradise of the next"
