Do you think JoJo & Sailor Moon will get more noticed in this now, now that there aren't a lot of other shows outdoing them (tbf outdoing Sailor Moon doesn't require effort)?

JoJo is 38 episodes into its second season. I'm guessing its buzz has stabilized at this point. And I'm pretty sure anyone who isn't pot-committed to Crystal has jumped ship at this point.

I'm guessing you liked BBB? I thought the first episode was pretty great can't wait to see where it goes.

Yep! Loved the first episode, Matsumoto is on fire, really excited to see where it goes.

When are the episode reviews starting? With next weeks episodes? Asking because OreGairu ep2 already aired.

I think the reviews are starting today, meaning I'll start next week.

What's a Shinbun and why do you have it?

A site where people submit news/articles to get them more exposure.

Before you scream NASU, the racist crap in this week's UBW is anime original. Ufotable's director (Miura) is responsible, we are all boycotting him don't worry.

Okay.

if haruhi is so bad why is the show in your addennum/top30 ?

Having flawed characters does not make a show bad. It's more the opposite, actually - stories with perfect heroes tend to be pretty terrible.

hmmm weird, i find that asoiaf is one of the few series out there who handles magic and fantasy perfectly

Yeah, there's a lot that's very good about the series, and it's certainly much better than the average fantasy epic. My favorites aren't generally ones that stick to that template, though.

Is Haruhi a bad person, or a good person with horrible flaws?

Haruhi's misguided and narcissistic and often cruel, but I wouldn't consider her a fundamentally bad person. You have to try pretty hard for me to consider you a fundamentally bad person.

So, what's on your definitely-watch list for this season?

Here's my rundown of everything I've seen:

Of course, I'll likely be continuing BBB, Oregairu, Sound! Euphonium, Plastic Memories, MY love STORY!!, Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan, and Punch Line, along with continuing UBW and JoJo. I was hoping to stick to only half a dozen shows, but I can probably handle nine for now.

What are your favorite sci-fi/fantasy novels?

The Dispossessed, The Left Hand of Darkness, The Truth, The Player of Games, and Lovecraft's stuff, if that counts.

Do you have to use the English titles for anime on ANN? Why?

Because those are the names they're actually streamed and advertised with, I assume.

It occurs to me that when I mock this one GG dude anonymously through Ask.fm I sound uncomfortably like the Fate fanboy(s) here. I'm doing it to a major idiot (guy that made notyourshield) but I really hate that I could be compared to someone like him and maybe give others a bad rep. Should I just s

Yeah, definitely do not do that. Abusive actions are abusive actions - everyone thinks their target "deserves it," that does not justify hurtful behavior.

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." Why does this saying still exist? It's like, the most wrong thing ever.

Yeah, it's terrible. Words cut deep and leave scars.

I'd like some more context about that quote, because as it stands it seems pretty disrespectful to others. Or is that not an actual quote and he was just trying to (falsely) summarise your answers to the people who post the annoying fate questions... or statements. Anyway, I'm confused.

The second one. Made-up quote by an angry fan.

You write a post a day? Maybe you have a huge backlog stored up but I only see a post every couple days? Not criticizing you, I'm grateful for what you put out already, just wondering what you meant by that.

Just short of that. Three episodic reviews + week in review post + full ANN review puts me at five automatic posts a week, Yurikuma last season put me at six, and I'm generally also working on essays or writing a bunch of stuff here on ask.fm.

Do you ever wonder if you write too many essays?

Definitely not! I wish I could write more, and am trying to get to that point. But I already have an average of almost a post a day by default, so it's tough to find time.
