What do you think about the portrayal of rape in some of the shows on Toonami?
I'm not psyched about sexual assault used in any show unless it's done with a degree of sensitivity and restraint, and isn't purely a salacious plot element. That said, I can't think of a "rape" scene that goes beyond IMPLIED assault, and I'm guessing you're referring to that infamous SAO "tentacle" scene (which is VIRTUAL implied sexual assault, I guess?), which I didn't like. Hellsing has some messed up stuff too, like necrophilia (which some jokers were pissed we had to edit, like- hello??). I don't like any of it but a) we don't have time to watch every single episode of every show before it airs, and b) one scene isn't usually enough to turn us off from airing a show we like. Make sense?

That's sort of a complicated question. In many ways there is more TV production for animation going on in the US than ever before, and arguably animation (comedy-wise anyway) is more widely accepted these days than ever before.
