What are your opinions on 4K? A TV and player will set me back $2000. And now movies are being released for $30 a pop. I wasn't fooled by 3D, but 4K is tempting. Considering that I have sufficient funds, is it a good investment?

Christian Carranza
I'd hold off. 4K is fine but it's nowhere near close to becoming the standard.

Lmao so I showed them your reply and they countered with "He's the boss, of course he's gonna say the whole block is doing well, he HAS to say it's doing well!" Smh... I no longer even care about changing their minds but isnt it sad people like this exist?

Can't worry about it. Reality is reality and if people want to ignore facts, they can't be helped.

my life but I really want to make sure I’m setting myself up for success post grad. What should a gal do? Thank you in advance for your advice; I apologize about all the message segments!

I'm going to give you some very simple advice: TAKE THE OFFER. It is VERY VERY hard to get into TV and even harder to get into an area close to what you ultimately want to do. I advise you to take the gig and soak up all the knowledge you can about how things work at a real, working network. From there you will make valuable connections and hopefully learn more about getting into the types of jobs you really want. It's all about hard work, talent, and knowing the right people. To do any of that, you need to get your foot in the door! Good luck!

programming and while I’m very excited about the opportunity, my heart is not in unscripted television. I worry that an internship in unscripted development will detract from potentially getting hired for scripted comedy dev. in the future. I know it’s just an internship and not the rest of...2/3

Answer in Pt 3.

Hi Jason! I’m a college student extremely interested in going into scripted comedy television devel. but unfortunately have been unsuccessful in finding an internship related to scripted tv/ comedy dev. for a network. I have an offer at an NBC subsidiary that focuses entirely on unscripted.. (1/3)

I'm 14 and people say that I "act black" or "wannabe black" because I listen to hip hop, have a low haircut, dress with swag & hang with black people. How do I respond to haters who criticize me for this?

You're 14, you're still figuring out who you are. Fuck the haters. Do you, don't worry about what people think right now.

I Mean it's only normal people my age drink and socialize especially at my age but I feel like I keep distancing myself with this stupid elitist additude. I know it's wrong but I can't help but judge people even though they are nice people. What should I do?

Man let me give you a piece of advice. I myself was straight edge all through high school and through much of college, and I would judge people the way you do. It's a dead end. You have to learn to stick to whatever principles you think are important but understand that what works for you doesn't work for everyone! I was never happier than when I got a job bartending and allowed myself to have the occasional drink. All things in MODERATION truly is the best way to be. Practice not saying anything and controlling your emotions and eventually, you'll get there. It's all about being mindful.

I find myself making digs to myself about everyone or coming off with rude remarks when they try talking me into joining them in it. I try not to make myself out to be better because we are all human after all but I am in this mindset where I keep thinking everyone I know is weak.Continued in part 3

Answer in Pt 3.

Hi Jason I am in my final year of college and I feel like a judgemental asshole. I am strait edge and 99% of my friends and acquaintances are not. I have been trying to improve at not judging them for drinking, partying and pot but it keeps happening. Continued in part 2.

And last night they outright shrugged off the possible idea that I'm depressed and decided to mark it down as pure laziness. I want to say something to them but chances are that I'd blow my stack and if I do that, then I'm basically out of the house. Any advice?

AlienRenegade’s Profile PhotoAmpRen
I'm really sorry, that's awful. Look- all you can do is keep to yourself and try to keep making your parents understand that what's happening to you is real and isn't "laziness." Perhaps your doctor would be willing to talk to them? In the mean time, you need to think about going out on your own or with friends and living somewhere you think might be better for you. Besides that, with or without your parents help, you should try to keep seeing a doctor and try meds or therapy to the degree you can. I know it's hard when you don't have the support of your immediate family, but you can do it! Good luck!

I've been suffering with depression for a few years (confirmed by multiple professionals/doctors) but my parents refuse to accept that for some reason. They constantly say things like "you're too smart to be depressed" or "why are you depressed when you were given anything you want?" (cont.)

Answer in part two.

Do you enjoy DICE (Showtime) and/or Andrew Dice Clay in general?

HeartofSword75’s Profile PhotoDuelist
Haven't watched DICE but I used to like his comedy in college. I'll stand by the glory & stupidity of "The Day The Laughter Died" and FORD FAIRLANE to this day.

With movies coming out now on 4K Blu-Ray, do you think that people will care enough to go out and buy 4K disks, or do you think the opposite trend will continue of people caring less and less about picture quality until there's only streaming of questionable quality available & the disk format dies?

I don't think 4K is the LEAP that Blu-Ray was from DVD, and even Blu didn't turn the trend around. Once you can stream in HD, that's going to be most people's preference.

Not really a question I just want to say thanks for getting Hunter X Hunter. I've been wanting watch this series for a while but never had the time. Now I can watch it every Saturday along with the rest of the block. Thanks again for everything you do.

On the flip side of what was discussed earlier, have you noticed a decrease in comedy movies in the theaters? It seems unless its a big name property or stars a big comedian, most comedies go straight to DVD or streaming. Sometimes it seems months go by without one.

Nah I think there's still plenty of comedy, it's just that most of it isn't any good.
