As a person who doesn't know anything about bodybuilding, I'd like to tell ya...

As a beginner can you build muscles without consuming enough protein
Your body needs enough protein to rebuild the damaged muscle from the microtears while you worked out at the gym. While you don’t need a lot as a beginner, it’s still good to feed your body to the nutrition it needs in order to start getting bigger
No you need protein to gain which you can get from meat as well if you’re vegan or vegetarian there’s plant based proteins and veggies that give lots of proteins but you definitely need it to build muscle because then the muscle burns the fat
You do need protein to build muscle fibres, and your body will consume whatever protein you take in in order to do so. If you have a protease (enzymes that digest protein) deficiency like me, and can't eat a lot of protein, you're going to experience less effective results from training, and your muscle building will go more slowly. But it will still happen over time.
