Yes the parents have that right until the child is 18. But they need to be able to express themselves in some ways you can't be extremely strict and rude about the things you don't think they should do

a girl in a mum group posted a video of her son who isn't yet 2 and he was saying "fuck you" but she asked him to repeat it a few times and was laughing. I know children pick things up, pronounce words wrong but is it funny when children swear? How would you go about it if your child swore?
It is funny if they say it by accident but they aren't repeatedly doing it. You probably shouldn't laugh in front of them about it or they will think it's funny and continue to do it again. I would tell them it's not right and not to say it.
