Whatsapp o Twitter ^-^

Bands don't save your life, they don't keep you alive. You keep yourself alive so stop giving credit to band frontmans.

First of all, I don't give credit to only frontmen.
About that there are lots of arguments and different opinions. I personally believe that music (and following that concept, artists) can save lives. Music can give you the strength you need to save your own life, or encourage you to get help... To me, that's considered saving lives, but I respect your point of view in this :)

The reason most people never achieve their dreams is because they simply give up. Life was never meant to be easy – its a constant struggle, with extreme lows and extreme highs. Remember that the times when its most important to persevere are the times that you will be most tested.

Thank you so much, and very wise words, I totally agree with you ^-^

Aqui hay mucho ingles pa mi xD

Do you realize that these people know more about depression than you?

I know they know more about depression than I do. But I also know people who are actually clinically depressed and never asked for help. They got help but it wasn't their choice. They got help after a failed suicide attempt.
I'm not saying I know more about depression; there's a lot of things about depression I don't know. But there are also a lot of things about depression you don't know. You should give this link a read: http://studentsagainstdepression.org/get-support/building-support-networks/whats-stopping-you-getting-help/

You are disagreeing with an entire medical study? The years and years of research done by brilliant doctors?

Definitely. I totally disagree with all that you said, and if that means disagreeing with an entire medical study and years and years of research done by brilliant doctors, then, yes, I am.

One of my mom's colleagues has actually done a study on that. Real depression is bad enough that the pain pushes the person to get medical help for therapy, or medication, or both. Those who dont seek help are the attention seekers, because they wouldnt be getting pity if they were better.

I disagree with you in that. A lot of people that probably have real depression don't seek help because they think they don't deserve it, but do want to seek help. Then, why didn't people who killed themselves seek help before? Open your eyes, things aren't as you imagine.

Most of her patients are actually teenagers. Doctor patient confidentiality keeps her from sharing personal information to me, but she has told me that maybe 1/10 of "depressed" teenagers have the real thing, and its scary. The rest, are self-diagnosed and emotionally unstable.

What about the depressed teenagers who don't go to a doctor because they keep hiding it? What about those who struggle in silence? What about those who think they're not worth any help? Do you really think they're weak or whatever?

Im glad you are strong enough to be able to overcome such obstacles! Thats impressive in my opinion :)

Thank you so much, it means a lot to hear that :)

Actually, i do understand. My mom is a therapist specializing in clinical psychology.

Did you ever ask her about teenage depression?

What was it? If you dont want to share, its fine, im just curious :)

I'm not much into sharing personal stuff, but since a lot of people open up to me, I want to be honest :)
It was suicidal thoughts, but I said kind of because I'm alive but still trying to overcome from that.

Teenagers with depression are actually normal teenagers that are more sensitive, dramatic, and emotional. They crave attention and sympathy, pity themselves, and think they have it rough. Weak.

I think you don't really know what depression is, you're just judging something you can't understand. That's not right at all.

Teenage depression is an excuse. They need to suck it up like everyone else.

It's not an excuse, it's a serious problem. So, tell me, if depression is an excuse, why do a lot of teenagers kill themselves? Do you really know what depression is? Of course teenage depression isn't like adults depression; there are different symptoms. But since 1 in 5 teenagers have contemplated suicide, it's really serious, people just don't realize that until it's too late. I know teenagers who have killed themselves and looked like the happiest people you could ever meet, and they were depressed
