It's a good song. As for the song meaning, I look at it in two ways: one - it gives me the idea of being depressed, where you miss the days when you were happy and you enjoyed life, you miss the colors of the world but now it's just emptiness. My second idea leans toward religion but also ties in with depression. The "Sun" could mean God and the person was once a believer or something but now he is in this current state of extreme depression and is trapped in this darkness that no light shines through, everything's just gone including his faith and religion. Hence, being "Away from the Sun."
