Pwede naman. Same reason why I rejected someone and pushed him away because I feel like I don't deserve him – he deserves someone better and more worthy than me.
But, have you already tried to be that someone better he deserves? If yes, and you think you really can't, go ahead and just let him go.
Siguro one thing din, minsan it's not for us to judge yung worth natin sa isang tao or kung deserving ba tayo sa mga buhay nila, ykwim? Like it's up to them to see. Idk about you ha, pero minsan kase we tend to overthink things, especially if we have low self-esteem and got a lot of insecurities and issues? Masyado tayong hard sa sarili natin that we focus on those bad stuff instead of seeing the good things in us kaya ang liit ng tingin natin sa sarili natin and whatnot. But then, there are people around us who see all the good things in us that we fail to see, and appreciate us for who we really are including our flaws and imperfections, like someone who is willing to still choose you and stay kahit pa may ibang mas hihigit sa'yo..
