She was the strongest they'd ever seen...
They all said so... And that's what kept her holding on for so long.
Each time she felt like letting go and just running away from it all, she was reminded of the pride she felt when they told her that she could do it; she could hold on for a while longer... Telling herself that tomorrow everything was gonna be okay was never easy; she never believed so... But she believed that better things come for those who wait... So she waited... But good never came her way... Sleep was her best friend; but she loved staying awake all night... just to enjoy the silence... she never minded staying up all alone; she was always alone; even when they told her she's not... She always went that extra mile for whom she thought she loved, but they never did the same... Her mood swings were the worst, and she knew, but nothing was to be done... It wasn't her fault, they never thought of how much damage they were causing, they only saw her frowning... But never crying... She never let anyone see her cry... It was a ritual never to be practised beyond the borders of her room...
The only act of defiance against her own law was creating this fictional version of hers; hoping to find love out there... Anywhere... from anyone who would even slightly like her bright side; if there was any... It was hard to hold on, to neglect how no one ever loved her unconditionally... How no one ever asked her what she wanted... How she always sat there... watching... listening... silently... How she was only treated as a friend cause they pittied her... How everyone kept their relationship with her so superficial...
It was hard to bear her frustration when she could no longer doodle something as simple as a childish version of a flower... When she'd hold her pen and the words refuse to flow out on her paper like they used to... no one knew what she was really going through all these years... Cause she was strong... She kept that smile on her face... And kept moving on..❤
