Ask @zanzlanz:

how do you go to the nether (this may/may not be the last question i ask you)

jayquanp19
The in-game guide has a tutorial for that, since it is a bit difficult to explain in words. You create 6 portal-stone, make a U shape out of it where there are 4 blocks on the floor, and one block above each end. Then light one of the middle two blocks on fire.
A super old video showing the process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfBxGl0QL2Q

HEY @zanzlanz how do you use the can break and can be placed on,on mineblocks?

jayquanp19
The data tag documentation is on the wiki page here:
https://mineblocks.com/1/wiki/index.php?title=Data_tags#Item_Tags
An example of canDestroy - Bread that can destroy Pumpkins and Jack-o'-Lanterns:
give bread 1 0 {canDestroy:["pumpkin", "jack_o_lantern"]}
An example of canPlaceOn - Redstone Dust that can be placed on Cobblestone and Moss Stone:
give redstone 1 0 {canPlaceOn:["moss_stone", "cobblestone"]}
I hope those point you in the right direction! :)

Zanzlanz, Happy New Year!, But that's not all. Can you please but do that if you have time, screenshot all dungeon, skyhold chest loots?, because every chest loot is a satisfy to me. It might be not really quick challenge. But I'm giving that to you as a 2020 challenge. Good luck, Alex.

Medulienka Eden
All loot chest items are listed on the wiki here:
https://mineblocks.com/1/wiki/index.php?title=Loot_chest
Bonus chests have their own loot tables:

Hope that answers the curiosity you had about chests :)
Happy 2020!

In a few days I will return to classes, I will be in 2nd semester of computer science where they will teach me programming. According to your experience, what could you suggest or tell me? :0

Crystal❄️Snow
That is so awesome! I hope you enjoy it!
I suppose it'll still be the basics and such, right? They might not always explain exactly "why" you have to write things the way they tell you to. So I think it's a good thing to not just follow the assignments, but to fool around and try to come up with little challenges for yourself. It can help really solidify the knowledge, making you learn it all quicker.
The reason is because programming is a lot of problem solving and logic. So it's important to have a good understanding of each piece of the problem to be able to solve the puzzles.
It might be more work to spend more time fooling around, but you might find that you learn quicker and actually enjoy the time you spend fooling around :) Assignments can be boring, so maybe make yourself a fun version of it or something! :D
IDK, I tried to come up with general advice. Hope it helps!

Golden Treasure has come to inspire you to make changes to the Ender Dragon from Mine Blocks? Is it likely to have a redesign of the Ender Dragon or something like that? or rather, is it likely to someday have a redesign of the mobs as they did at Minecraft in their recent versions? :o

Crystal❄️Snow
Working on Golden Treasure didn't make me want to change anything about Mine Blocks, I think. GT already aligned well with my feelings and stuff, so I don't have any epiphanous ideas from working on it. Although, I have been leaning more to having non-human characters for my future games... I have a feeling GT encouraged that out of me.
I'm not entirely sure what mob redesigns you're referring to regarding Minecraft. There will certainly be a lot of additions and changes to mobs overtime, but probably nothing along the lines of a big redesign :)

What songs influenced your musical taste the most?

Brzydki nieśmiały chłopiec
This will be a ramble xD
At some point, my friend showed me dubstep stuff, like Datsik ("Southpaw") and Skrillex ("Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites"). So that likely introduced me to EDM.
The same friend told me Infected Mushroom made really cool music. At first I teased him for clicking the ads on Spotify that were basically all Infected Mushroom at the time lol. But man, Army of Mushrooms was a fantastic album. The track "Never Mind" was great.
From there I explored similar artists, going in and then out of a Trance music phase. Generally, let's say Infected Mushroom lead to Shpongle, which lead to Circuit Bent, which lead to discovering more music around the genre of IDM (I don't think this term was around then though - and I don't even like the term).
One in particular was featured in SeamlessR's Viewer Track Reviews series on YouTube. He featured a track by Babokon (Alexander Panos) called "Going Down", which was a really bizarre track to me.
In the same group, similar artists were popping up here and there. Alon Mor, for example, had brought something new to the table. "Ocelot" is a good one.
Normally this group of new artists went into Riddim (or brostep), which I really can't stand. Thankfully that genre is becoming more stale.
So that line of exploration made me really appreciate new sounds, or sound design that surprises my expectations in unique ways.
In the exact opposite side, I also highly appreciate chiptune. With a nearly complete lack of sound design, composition and creativity really shine. I'm influenced a lot by the four albums "World 1/2/3/4" by Morusque, and often look for clean chiptune with similar creativity as his. Hard to say what influenced my taste in chiptune exactly though. I don't really know how that progressed.
I just don't like music focused on vocals or lyrics for some reason. I can appreciate it to some extent, but definitely don't care for it. Not sure what that's about. 'Mainstream' genres are pretty boring I guess haha

What would be your reaction to a fake account using your photo as a profile picture?

Brzydki nieśmiały chłopiec
Well that happens sometimes I guess!
If it's done maliciously (to impersonate or "defame"), that's awful and would probably lead to some sort of a ban/report depending on the platform, haha. Wouldn't want anyone being mislead. Especially in those cases where the offender is trying to sell something or install a virus!
If it's done for parody, it's a bit annoying since it'd be at my expense. But if people are enjoying it and it's not pushing some sort of bad agenda, then ultimately what's the true harm x)
For any other reason I can think of right now, even though maybe it's confusing to others and strange to me, it's probably harmless. And in my case, maybe it's even free advertisement, idk! :D

What is the trick so that in Mine Blocks to enchant a peak (diamond for example) it has the enchantment '' Silk touch ''?

Crystal❄️Snow
Silk touch uses 14 levels to enchant all tools except for axes, which use level 23.
On pickaxes, if you use level 15, there's a higher chance the game will pick fortune 1, because it tries to offer you the most expensive enchantment possible. If it does that, then silk touch can't be applied, since you can't have both silk touch and fortune on the same tool. This is why I recommend using exactly level 14. :)
So your best bet is to pick enchantments in the enchanting table that show level 14 only.
For the highest changes (by far!!) to be shown level 14 in the enchantment table, place exactly 7 books near it :)
Try that out in creative to see if it helps!

What features are now possible in Mine Blocks thanks to Haxe that you could not before with Flash?

Crystal❄️Snow
I guess we'll find out what will be better and what will be worse :) Most of the benefit comes from the fact I have to repackage all of the assets, so maybe stuff like texture packs, languages, and window size.
A big draw back is I probably will have to limit how many worlds you can have on web, because browsers severely limit how much storage a website can save. Unlike Flash, which could store unlimited data. Which is unfortunate, because now how could I possibly do infinite worlds? :V

why in Mineblocks 2 you can use right click and in Mineblocks you must press left click +shift?

George
It's because of a few reasons.
The main one is that Mine Blocks 2 was initially made in AS3. Mine Blocks 1 was created in AS2. Right-click support was not possible in AS2. Therefore, in a whole bunch of places in Mine Blocks 1, it checks for the shift-key. It's a surprisingly big change to switch a control like this :)
Another reason is that supporting right-clicking meant dropping support for certain players (like Linux or old Mac users, I forget exactly). I'm pretty sure Adobe has since updated Flash Player for this platform one more time, so it no longer is an issue. But in the nature of Mine Blocks being available to the most possible people, dropping support for a group seemed like a bad option.
One weird thing about right-clicking is that it's actually broken in Flash when I test the game. It's a bug in the "debugger" because "onMouseUp" doesn't get triggered. So it makes testing more difficult.

Is Haxe layered to reduce the lag of Mine Blocks? :0

Crystal❄️Snow
So to clarify:
- Haxe is the language I write the code in. It allows me to release games on web, PC, and mobile.
- Lime is a helpful library for connecting with OpenGL, the keyboard, mouse, and more.
- OpenGL is a "Graphics Library" that allows me to tell the graphics card to draw graphics to the screen.
- Finally, my game engine is a library that uses all of those tools to make things draw on the screen.
My goal with the game engine is to make something that is efficient, yes :)
My next optimization is batching 2D draw calls automatically, which should end up being very fast, I think. For example, instead of drawing each block individually, it will draw them all at once using a grid.
However, one problem I found is:
If a player doesn't have "hardware acceleration" enabled in their browser, the game will run at a low FPS. Games like agar.io and slither.io do not have this problem because they don't use OpenGL directly, but games like hordes.io or tanks.io do.
But my hopes are that it'll be perfectly fine otherwise :D I can do some pretty good optimizations now that I have my own rendering engine to work with.
We'll see how things go when I get started with the port. Thanks for the question!

Hey Zanz, What's Gonna be added in 1.29 MB? Give me some Spoilers XD (Not on Twitter).

Mine Blocks Lemons
A big piece of the update is helpful fixes and improvements so far! So, while the update is around 75% done, I'm only half way through the actual additions. (I know that's not exactly what you wanted me to post here lol, but I can't release spoilers too early :D)
Some people post what they know/speculate about it on the Mine Blocks wiki. It's sometimes outdated though. Here's the page:

Any funny anecdote? lol

Crystal❄️Snow
I wish I was the type of person who could tell really good anecdotes! I knew someone in high school who was a complete natural at it - he could tell the most mundane story in a very captivating and funny way. Was quietly jealous XD
But one thing that keeps coming up is my over-punctuality. I don't want to be late for things, so I usually give myself extra time for getting lost or running into traffic on the road. It's reasonable - my phone's GPS basically disintegrates randomly, so I can't trust it.
But in reality I almost never run into problems, so I show up to events 20 minutes early. It's early enough to have to awkwardly wait around for at least someone else to show up.
This is definitely my "useless superpower" because now, even when I just want to show up on time, I somehow manage to still arrive 20 minutes early. Even if I leave 10 minutes later than I plan! o.o
The other day my co-workers and I were meeting up at an art fair. I didn't know the route to get there, and I knew parking was going to be really difficult, since thousands of people would be at the fair. So I gave myself extra time time to leave of course.
Getting there turned out to be easy, and I found a parking spot super easily very close to where we were meeting. 20 minutes early again, no more and no less.
20 minutes later I got a call from my co-workers. They had to leave later because someone was late to the carpool. They were going to be another 20 minutes late to get there. Okay, fine, it's a nice day. I'll wait.
So I've been there for like 40 minutes, and I get another call. They couldn't find parking _anywhere_ nearby, so they were walking over a mile to meet up with me! HOW did things work out so well for me to have perfect parking?
Anyway I believe it was over an hour before I met up with them. If I had arrived at a reasonable time it certainly wouldn't have been like that. But I don't think that's possible for me to do lol
Being cursed with the useless superpower to be excessively early sure requires patience. o-o Who knows, maybe I'm a time traveler without knowing it. :D

Congratulations in gradusting soon. Which uni did you study and what degree please? just very curious

Larry LaBanks
Thanks!
I studied for 4 years as a Computer Scientist at Lawrence Tech.
I picked up my diploma a couple days ago. I didn't want to be late for work, so I went early (before they opened). An employee was there early too, so I think I might have been the first of my class to officially receive a diploma! \o/
I was still like 20 minutes early to work lol
