When was the last time you got wasted?

I don't even remember. I hate hangovers so I avoid them at all costs.

I'm going through some financial problems and anxiety problems, so naturally i've become some isolated until I can figure things out and get myself together but I feel like I'm letting my friends and family down by not being there for them also, I don't want to lose them. advice?

If you FEEL like you're letting them down, you probably are. It's fine to pull back a bit and tell your loved ones you need some time to deal with the stuff you have going on in your life, for sure. But you also need to carve out some time for them, because it's a two way street. Put your own problems aside for a bit and hear about THEIR issues, you know? It's not a lot to ask. Ultimately, you may even find that helping friends with their issues will shed light on your own, and offer you some perspective you might be lacking. Good luck!

thoughts on yelawolfs new album?

It's not good. Which is too bad, because I think he's a talented rapper and I like his first couple of records a lot. But Shady's attempt to make him over as the southern, more poppy version of Eminem is not resulting in good work. I think they fundamentally misunderstand his appeal and are sending him down a ruinous path, but what do I know. I wish him luck nonetheless, I know he's a good dude.

Have you ever had any issue with substance abuse? I myself am having trouble with quitting weed permanently.

I have not, but many of my friends and family members have. Don't be afraid to ask for help from friends and family, and don't be afraid to look for substance abuse programs, every little bit helps. Obviously it's up to you to kick this, but you don't have to go it alone. Loved ones and social programs can help. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice, and no my question wasn't bs, my son and friend really did set a dog on fire and tried to hide the evidence in a pond but they didn't know body would float, thanks for the advice I'm going to get him to child phycologist or something. Thanks.

Well dear God, I'm very sorry but you have to tell that poor family what your son did to their dog, and you have to get your son some help immediately, before it's too late. Good luck.

What do you think about American Psycho, the movie?

Dig it! I view it as a black comedy though, not a horror film. But I could see an argument for either.

Hey, I wrote the portfolio question earlier about working in TV/Film. Ideally I'd like to eventually be a writer/producer. I'm just curious what assets I need to have to get an assistant job or better out of school... Thanks for being so helpful and upfront, by the way!

If you want to be a TV producer, you need a reel, some writing samples, and hopefully you can get an internship at a network or production company and get some hands on experience, that will help a lot. Good luck.

What are some of your horror movie recommendations that you think are essential viewing for someone with an interest in the genre?

So many. A few you might check out: THE SHINING, HALLOWEEN (original), POLTERGEIST, ALIEN, THE EXORCIST, EVIL DEAD II, A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (original), SUSPIRIA, UNDER THE SKIN, DON'T LOOK NOW, THE DESCENT, MARTYRS, THE FLY (remake), THE VANISHING (original), PSYCHO (original), THE THING (1982), NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (original), DAWN OF THE DEAD (original), HELLRAISER, NOSFERATU, THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, 28 DAYS LATER, ONIBABA, THEY LIVE, TRICK R TREAT, FUNNY GAMES (original), MULHOLLAND DRIVE, DONNY DARKO, KILL LIST, THE PULSE (original), LET ME IN, AUDITION, RE-ANIMATOR, INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS (1978), VIDEODROME, PEEPING TOM, BLOW-UP, THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE (original).

Any movies you've seen lately that's worth giving a watch?

EX MACHINA was great, enjoyed A MOST VIOLENT YEAR but it wasn't amazing. Worth a watch though. Thought THE GAMBLER was surprisingly good.

can you recommend me any artists similar to Tim Hecker and Ben Frost?

In a (somewhat) similar vein but not exactly the same: The Haxan Cloak, Oneohtrix Point Never, William Basinski, Fennesz, Arca, Emeralds, Andy Stott, Prurient, Lawrence English.

Are you a fan of any Giallo movies?

I'm not like a MEGA Giallo fan but I know my way around the genre as any true horror fan is. I love Mario Bava, Dario Argento, Lucio Fulci and of course Ruggero Deodato.

Why do you think people ask you personal/revealing questions?

Probably because I try to answer their questions in a straightforward way, without any bullshit and without being condescending or mean. I think.

Has any modem or recent movie had an ending or plot twist that caught you by surprise our are you too clever to let any do that?

I'm not too clever, it happens all the time. I'm not a huge fan of the "twist" ending though, so I can't think of the last one I thought was amazing or whatever.

Are you sensitive to video issues like banding or brightness (even if slight)? I myself almost never notice unless someone points it out to me.

Well I work in TV so yeah I notice stuff like that a lot. It doesn't mean a ton to me, but I always notice.

Jason, Im insecure and have major trust issues. I don't trust anyone. I don't trust my girlfriend, my friends, my family, no one. I always believe they lie to me. Any tips on fixing this?

Yeah, you need therapy. You need to speak with a family counselor, or psychologist, or psychiatrist. You have issues that could stem from experiences that have shaped you, or could be something related to an underlying mental issue that can be helped through mediation. Id' talk to your parents about it, or a family member, and see what they think. Good luck.
