When do you believe your reliance on coffee started? Did anyone ever give you crap for it when you started it out, cause I mildly get that myself. There's just this utter void of no energy nor motivation I get it almost every single day when I haven't had it yet.

No one gave me shit. My love for coffee started in college, hanging out at coffee shops. As I've grown older, I'm totally addicted. Which is fine: I love coffee too much to care.

Do you have a fun side or are you mostly serious? You seem very serious.

I have a fun side for sure, really only good friends and family see it though. Or drinking buddies!

Man that Ghost in the Shell teaser gave me those Intruder 2 vibes, i think its going to go down as maybe the best adapted anime live action. What do u think?

I have reservations for sure, but it will certainly LOOK beautiful and I know those involved want to live up to the material.

Do you like Akira Kurosawa movies? if yes. Wich one is your favorite?

I mean he has a huge discography, but some of my favs are:
Ran
The Seven Samurai
Yojimbo
Rashomon
High and Low
The Bad Sleep Well
I'm ashamed to say I know his work way more than that of his equally brilliant contemporaries, Mizoguchi and Ozu, but I do intend to rectify that.

I apologize if this has been asked before but how does it work to air music videos? Do you get paid to do it or do you pay to air them?

Either we reach out to a label or artist or they reach out to us. We don't pay for videos, nor are we paid. We run the videos we like because we want to. Pretty simple.

The Get Down is actually really cool. Never seen anything that mans has worked on other than Gatsby tho. doesn't seem like he really has a notorious or an extensive body of work. what did he do that slighted you so much lmao. anyways stop being a dummy and give it a chance.

I don't have to be "slighted" to think a director is a hack, anon. It's okay to disagree about art. And since I've seen more of his work than you have, I'm arguably in a better position to judge it. Browbeating me isn't gonna make me like something.

What are some of the best live shows you've seen?

Whew that's a long list but some of the best acts I've seen live are:
Prince
Boredoms
Fugazi
Portishead
Bad Brains
Outkast
My Bloody Valentine
Slayer
Bjorne
LCD Soundsystem
Death Grips
Ice Cube
T.I.
Kraftwerk
Raekwon and Ghostface
Burn
Quicksand
Madvillain
High on Fire
Mastodon

did you decide to give The Get Down a chance yet

No, just dislike Baz's work and none of the reviews have lead me to believe this show is any different from his usual style.

What are your favorite movies released this year?

The Nice Guys
The Witch

Was there any point in your life where you struggled with religion?

Through my teens for sure. I was raised Catholic and my late teens and very early 20's was a period of intense self-examination. I am not a religious person.

Any recommendations for someone who looking for more hiphop like Run The Jewels

There isn't really anything that sounds like RTJ besides some of El-P's back catalogue, Killer Mike's "R.A.P. Music," or some of the stuff on El's old label, Def Jux. check it out!

What do you think of Disney remaking their classic movies into live action ones?

I have very little interest in those, since I was never much of a Disney fan to begin with. And I think a lot of their animated films are gorgeous and not improved by CGI and actors.

How come there is no serious adult animation in the US? I know there was Spawn and Maxx, but that was in the 90's. Most of the adult animation in the US are comedies. How come the US does not have many serious adult animation compare to Japan. Where's American's answer to Ninja Scroll or Akira?

It's too expensive to produce animation in the US, generally, so much of the work of animating moved offshore. Also, there is a tradition of serious animation in Japan, and in the US, animation has always been viewed as either a medium for children, or something that can be funny but never serious or insightful. It's just a cultural difference, one that may change one day (and hopefully Toonami is a part of that change), but it hasn't changed much, so far.

If a bedroom artist wants to submit music for you what would be the best way to do so. For many of us communication methods are limited due to not having a label or a manager but personally I would not want to seem annoying. Any insight into this would be great. Love AS btw

Just shoot me a link on my Twitter. When I have time I will listen. Good luck.

Personally, I think it's great that Toonami's evolving. It gives it a greater purpose than just existing as a nostalgia grab that would lose it's luster quickly. I think that's why the revival has lasted as long as it's had. What do you think the secret to it's success is?

I think you said it! Thank you!

How do you maintain personal relationships with people in a professional setting when you must be firm with them (i.e. passing on a pitch, etc.) ? I know they must understand its part of the job, but do you have any tools or advice for how to do so most effectively without ruining friendships? Thx!

MY belief is that honest, straightforward feedback is always the best policy. Never be overly harsh, try to give constructive criticism, but be honest. It's more rare than people think.
