I hope every religious person out there is, right now, praying to whatever god they see fit, so that these victims may be the last to die in such a cruel and pointless way. As an atheist, I understand. I have never felt this helpless. I have never before felt the need to believe in a higher power. I want to believe that someone, something has the power to put an end to all this. I want to believe that there's a plan. But I can't pray. I don't believe. I can only hope that it will get better, and when it does, my loved ones will still be unharmed. This has gone on too long. Its not just terror and war. Its hunger. Hate. Fear. It just seems too much for one generation. And I don't know what's true and what's not, I dont know what I can do and I am simply overwhelmed by the sheer pointlessness of all this violence.
