Hi, what exactly is clexco?

Hi! :) CLExco stands for Class Leaders Executive Committee! It's basically a group of 12 class leaders who lead all the class leaders in NYJC with the aim organizing events to promote class bonding! Such projects could be activities during festivals such as Chinese New Year! :)

Hello! For J1s, school will end at at different timings each day and normally it is between 4pm to 6pm! However, due to project work (an ALevel subject that has to be completed in 1 year) in J1, it is normal to stay back a little longer for it. (:

Hi, is it difficult to study h2 CLL ?

Hi! Difficulty of H2 CLL varies for all students due to difference in abilities. However, each subject has its own difficult areas so students have to work hard for them! :)

Is H2Math+ H2Chem/Physics +H2Geog +H1 History a weird combination with few people opting for? And what are the chances of it being offered?

Hello! It is a unique combination indeed. However, in JCs, it is common to have some classes with a mixture of subject combinations. It is very likely to be offered this unique subject combination as NYJC is flexible with the subject combinations that students are interested in. (:

Can I appeal to NYJC before the official posting to my new school?

I have 2 points and people tell me to go either raffles or hwachong but I really like nanyang.what should i do?

Hello! :) as you are choosing your choice for JCs, it is important for you to actually like the environment of the college itself because you will be the one spending 2 years in here. (We are not persuading you to put NYJC as your first choice instead of other JCs.) However, considering the amount of work students have in JCs, it will tend to be stressful for them and thus, it's important that you like your college and this will make studying in the college much more bearable and lively. :)

hi non assembly days mean report at 8.55? what about assembly days? -interested prospective j1

Hi! Assembly day means report to college (by tapping in) by 0825! :)

The only thing that is stopping me from nyjc is the distance. Do students who take slightly longer to travel normally do badly? Cause that's what I hear

Hi! Living further away from our college isn't really an issue because our college has also emphasized on "making good use of the time we have" so students who live slightly further, they actually make use of their journey to NY to study or read newspapers (which will benefit General Paper). This does not only apply to students who live far, but actually for everyone. This is because in JC, students have to learn to maximize the time they have and have a good balance between work and play. Thus, it is not true to say that students who live further are doing badly. :)
