Okay so you can do 2 things depending on what you want.
1. You can stay the way you two are right now, which is I guess a relationship where you are really close, because if you become officially a couple and then break up, even your friendship is destroyed. Staying like this MIGHT fade away like many friendships but I HOPE not as badly.
2. If you feel like you really wanna go as far as you can with him, you can. You can go for the highlight and get to be his gf, which will make your bond even stronger and your conversations and actions will vary. BUT BE PREPARED for the worst. I mean, previously being so close to this person plus your deep relationship will make the breakup (which happens, feelings can change in a month, he might get bored etc) really tough to get through. And after the break up (1 week, 1 month, 1 year idk) you may act like strangers and lose contact for ages or, forever.
Conclusion: If you want to be stable, stay the way you two are, it's still lovely but it will always make you want something more. Be careful..
If you want adventure and new experiences and reach the top with him, go for it, it will be an intense time of your life but remember it can end badly in seconds.
