My town, which I escaped from more 45 years ago , & got trapped in again, during what was supposed to a 2-day visit, between a run of 8 job interviews . . . is an inbred backwater situated in the Backward Borders of Scotia ; it has no industry, which was self-destructed by half a century ago ~ the 'brave-men' of 'Haga-Wick' , who still take themselves so unbelievably seriously, they genuinely-delusionally think they are the nucleolus of the megiverse . . . .
I used to enjoy returning here, with my kids when they were very young , for adventure holidays, yomping over wild moorland , over the hills & far away, searching hidden lochs to fish for wild trout & release with pleasure . . .
now , it's like being stuck in Royston-Vasey (google it!)
