try to make a few good friends first! they don't have to be locals, just anyone you can hang out with and eat with. it gets less lonely that way :) as an international student, you have the luxury of FREEDOM so don't waste that! join clubs! explore all the cafes! have fun!

instead of hanging out with my classmates i met people (local or otherwise) other ways instead. i joined a lot of volunteering activities and i lived with many different nationalities (over 10 in 2 years!) and through work as well.

i think i've received as many opportunities as i have discrimination! i was offered a lot of opportunities and all the lecturers gave me extra attention. but this was also because international students were rare in my course, outspoken ones even rarer.
ofc there were things that sucked, like the rare lecturer who patronized me, the constant attention (i became the Voice of Asia, apparently) and uh, not getting along with my classmates as well as i should've because ~differences~

sehun's in it for the ride? i think he got into the industry the same way changmin did, for shit and giggles, and then eventually he grew to love dancing and performing, if only because he liked it better than studying. he's fiercely loyal and keeps his feelings to himself even if his face betrays him, having learned to self censor and hide whatever the company, the public, doesn't want to see. still, he's a little shy and spoiled, used to getting whatever he wants, so hasn't matured enough to start acting like he should. he doesn't get a lot of lines or attention but that's okay because he's working on improving and practicing with every free moment he has.

i believe wyf is a genuinely sweet guy that just fell in the k-idol life because it was the only escape he had. he matured too fast and knows exactly what he wants, knows that that k-idol life will continue to be shitty to him because sm will never learn to stop playing favourites. then he was offered a new chance, and he took it. shitty for the team but a smart (? we're still pending on this) investment for himself.
lu han's overly naive to the point where he felt betrayed (?) by how different idol life turned out to be and started feeling resentful and he probably can be easily swayed by anything promising a better future. he makes it clear that he's not in it for the long run and it's probably easier to walk away from c-ent, his home turf

aus..tral...ia? maybe. idk i've had very different classes and courses in both countries. in malaysia, i was doing math and sciences, accounting etc. in australia i was doing communication and social sciences. i would say malaysia was easier for me only because i could ace tests by rote memorisation and i'm really good at taking tests that have formulas.
