Well if it comes to me I always prefer nikkah.
But i have seen people who don't prefer nikkah because they don't want commitments.
Halal may bezari or haram may lazat hay. Thats why going against nafs is jahad.

Because relationships are easy, Nikah has become hard. People have unrealistic standards for their spouses and they make exorbitant demands in terms of "jahez" and Haq Mehr.
