I have a good friend who is a great father (single dad). He is not just a "weekend dad," and is very active in his kid's lives. For instance, he would be helping the kid's sports team by handling equipment/asst coach while many of the moms would be sitting in their SUV in the parking lot on their smart phones.
While there was a slow down during the war era, many would consider the golden age to be up to the early 60’s. There was a definite swing by mid 70’s from movies as an art form (and to make money) to primarily a revenue stream with less focus on art. That’s when the “blockbusters” started to prevail.
