when you were a child, did you believe in any sort of God? what about as a teenager?
Both as a child and as a teenager I believed in the existence of God.

There are many reasons why I believe that the Catholic Faith is the true faith.
One of the most compelling reasons is that the Catholic Faith does not say that God only gave us a text, a Sacred Scripture, to follow but that he gave us a teacher who can tell us without error how God wants us to live.
Please correct me if I am wrong but as far as I know the Church of the Later-day Saints, like the Protestants and the Muslims and Jews all believe in a text which they say comes from God but are not certain of how to interpret it.
Who is this teacher from God? The Bishop of Rome who continues the office of St. Peter the Apostle who Jesus, the God-man, placed over his Church.
