ことしは一億年ぶりくらいにお金を出して紙のカレンダーを買いました。下重ななみさんという私の好きな画家が繊細で静謐な絵で毎月楽しませてくれます。

I wake up in the morning to find myself alive and breathing. I go outside, the sky is clear, the mountains far away are green, wind blows gently, carrying smell of flowers. I hear invisible birds singing. Schoolgirls and boys rush past me. No one can prevent me from standing here and now in this world. That makes me feel happy.
Good advice to give to someone who is becoming a parent?
Treat your child not as a child, but as a human being. Don't try to tell them what to do, but try to let them think what to do and decide by themselves.

美術館行った思い出あったら聞かせてください
画家の自宅だった建物を改装した小さな美術館なんだけど、パリのギュスターヴ・モロー美術館はとくべつに好きで、パリに滞在している間何度も通いました。螺旋階段を上がるとひらかれる異世界というか別世界は見る者を酔わせる力があり、日がな一日そこにいても退屈せず、ずっとこの世界にいつづけたいと思わせます。
