"নারী এবং পুরুষের মাঝে কেবলই বন্ধুত্বের সম্পর্ক থাকা অসম্ভব। যা থাকতে পারে তা হলো আকাঙ্খা, দুর্বলতা, ঘৃণা কিংবা ভালোবাসা।" ! হুমায়ূন আহমেদ বলেছিলেন, "ছেলে আর মেয়ে বন্ধু হতে পারে কিন্ত তারা অবশ্যই প্রেমে পড়বে। হয়তো খুবই অল্প সময়ের জন্য অথবা ভুল সময়ে। কিংবা খুবই দেরিতে, আর না হয় সব সময়ের জন্য। তবে প্রেমে তারা পড়বেই। শুধুই সুযোগের অপেক্ষা।" সত্যি হলো, ছেলে ও মেয়েতে শুধুমাত্র বন্ধুত্ব অসম্ভব ও প্রকৃতি বিরুদ্ধ। কেননা শুধুমাত্র বন্ধুত্ব হলে প্রকৃতি নিজের অস্তিত্ব হারাবে। চুম্বক আর লোহা কখনো পাশাপাশি থাকতে পারে না... আকৃষ্ট করবেই। যদি কেউ তা এড়িয়ে যায় তবে সে ভণ্ডামি করছে নয়তো ধোকা দিচ্ছে। আগুনের পাশে মোম গলবেই। ছেলে ও মেয়ে বন্ধুত্ব হতে পারে, কিন্তু একসময় প্রেমে বা অবৈধ সম্পর্কে রুপ নিবেই। শুধুই সুযোগের অপেক্ষা। আর এটাই স্বাভাবিক। তাই লক্ষ্য রাখুন, আপনার বোন কিংবা মেয়ে, স্বামী কিংবা স্ত্রী, ভাই কিংবা ছেলে, কাদের সাথে মিশছে! নিজেকেও এ বিষয়ে বিশেষভাবে সতর্ক রাখতে হবে। কারণ শয়তান সব সময় মানুষের পিছনে লেগে আছে। সঙ্গটাই এখানে সবচেয়ে বেশী গুরুত্বপূর্ন।

অর্থ উচ্চ সমাজের ফাঁদ কিনতে পারে, কিন্তু এটি চরিত্র, সততা, নৈতিকতা বা শ্রেণী কিনতে পারে না। টাকা চাটুকারিতা কিনতে পারে, কিন্তু আত্মসম্মান নয়। অর্থ একটি সুখী জীবনের চেহারা কিনতে পারে, কিন্তু সত্যিকারের সুখ কিনতে পারে না। সুতারাং এটাকে সব সময় সম্পর্কের নীচে রাখুন।
