How do you communicate with your higher self?
I try to meditate or lucid dream and set an intention to meet with my Higher Self. Sometimes i can hear voices, receive images or strong urges to do or not to do something, my higher self also sends me messages through gut feelings, consulting my cards for some insight helped me tap into my higher consciousness and shed light on some blind spots

Being a witch is a personal path, if its not doing you any good there's no point. If you bought a crystal for example and you think they're just rocks i suggest you don't waste your money anymore just for the aesthetic. It's all about believing in your power and what you're doing. You need to tap into your intuition, you'll feel a light from above is guiding your path. Candles are easy to find i guess but you can find tea lights and scented candles at the body shop, bath and body works and fragrance stores.

Just start symple and things will come gradually.

There's a plenty of topics to research as an aspiring witch, read about the history of witchcraft, types of witches, types of magic, divination, sigils and talismans, Study the Kabbalah and the hermetic laws. Also symbols, the elements, Energy, grounding, herbs and crystals, moonphases, astral projection, deites( for pagan witches)
READ READ READ, DON'T EVER THINK YOU KNOW IT ALL, we never stop learning, let things flow naturally and you'll find your path.. practice is the best way to learn. You don't have to spend tons of money on crystals to start your altar, your sacred space will gradually grow as you learn. For instance, Birthday candles or simple white candles work if you don't have the color you need for the ritual, it's all about the intention you set. You have magical spices and herbs in your kitchen! Diffuse basil for protection, lavender for relaxation, rosemary for cleansing..etc
