The British Humanist Association (BHA) believes that young people should be taught about religious and non–religious world views http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/144/831/120/?z00m=27441875&redirectID=1961334280 Do you agree with this? Why or why not?
I agree with it. Why? Because people need to understand how (censored) up this world is before they are let out on their own. Adults encounter all kinds of people with different religions and people that are anti-religion. It would make it easier for them to understand the other individuals and where they are coming from. It could possibly ease tensions between the religions as well, but that's highly unlikely. Most religious fanatics don't want anything to do with anyone outside of their religion.
But it never hurts to learn about all the other religions. I took a lot of courses on religions and cults in college and I am very grateful for the knowledge I learned and am still learning on my own. Religion is interesting. :)
