My friend told me their preferred pronoun is 'it,' and I know I should respect their needs, but I really don't feel confident calling them that. It makes me feel like I'm calling them an inanimate object very rudely. What should I do?
I personally think that pronoun is pretty awkward to say as well (for the same reason as you) BUT being that your friend has decided that being referred to by this pronoun is comfortable, you should try to use "it" pronouns. Maybe talk w/ ur friend about how you feel? The "it" pronoun does come with a very negative connotation (some really transphobic people will use it to dehumanize trans people) so I understand that you may feel odd using the pronoun at first but in the end I'd use it's preferred pronouns because being misgendered feels so bleh to nonbinary people tbh~

It depends; what do you like? As for tips I'd say just take care of your house/room- keep it tidy and set aside time to clean it well. Fake flowers make pretty and usually cheap decoration if you like flowers (over here they're sold at the dollar store)
19th Century activists definitely had problematic opinions on a few things. They may have supported abolition of slavery but unfortunately I doubt most supported LGBT+ rights or abortion. Does this mean they were bad people? Was almost everybody back then a bad person? :(

So you’re right that white people don’t have a culture. Last time I checked, no race had one unified culture.
Well uh I'm assuming this is a mass message. Anyway, yes - everyone has roots. Everyone has a culture. American culture isn't pretty, but it's real. People usually make fun of white European-based culture to chastise people for appropriating cultures belonging to other races. That never really sat well with me. I don't agree with cultural appropriation, but I also don't agree with the erasure/denial of European culture and it's really not right for anyone to be appropriating or making negative comments about any culture at all.
