I think it's okay not to love your parents.
Not all parents are good parents or should have the privilege of raising a child. Not all parents are good parents. Even parents who make a lot of money and seemingly spoil their children can be abusive (my situation is similar to this, and people argue that omg I should not hate my parents omg u should b grateful they give u so many things!!)
Yes, I have a lot of things, but I also endure harsh abuse in several forms (I would not like to go into specifics). I am worn down and reduced to a fearful and panicked mess some nights; I feel so unsafe in the place that's meant to be my HOME. My parents think they can buy my forgiveness for their constant mistreatment of me. They think material things will make me forget how horrid they made me feel. My parents are extremely ableist and whenever I have an episode they use me as an example and tell my siblings "don't let mental illness consume you!!!". My house is not home to me. I feel like a stranger, a house guest they despise. My siblings taunt me and tear me down and try their hardest (and succeed) to trigger my misophonia and upset me until I'm screaming. I know they don't love me. So fucking screw anyone who says you have to pretend to love people who make you hate yourself and hate the fact that you're alive. You are your own being and you are not defined by your parents. Your parents have no right to abuse and manipulate you. You do not have to and should not feel pressured to love family members who do not love you.
