Would you rather read books or watch films?

i prefer to read, but these days i find it difficult to read for a long period of time because a) i'm too hypervigilant of my surroundings to be able to concentrate on a book and b) my eyesight is in poor form.
i love watching films, but it doesn't hold the same appeal to me as reading does.

From yesterday onwards addiction to video games is now a recognised illness. It has been recognised as an illness in Japan for some years now. There have even been Japanese parents who's infant passed away because they were so busy playing video games. What's your opinion on this new diagnosis?

urlsareshittbh’s Profile Photourlsareshittbh
i've always considered it a mental illness because addiction to anything is an illness. overconsumption of anything is generally unwise. sure, it's not quite on the same level as illicit drugs or alcohol, or anything else that can easily kill you, but it comes as no surprise that an addiction as seemingly mundane as video gaming caused a couple to neglect their child in order to satiate their addiction.

do you allow people to walk around your house with their shoes on? or do you ask them to remove their shoes at the door?

i don't really care! if their shoes are filthy i'd probably ask for them to take them off at the door, but it's no big deal to me otherwise.

To be honest, what are you waiting for?

i know this is a legitimate question and all, but the philosophical implications of it totally blew my mind.
what AM i waiting for?!
why do i keep putting things off?
i'm procrastinating on the things i need to do, out of perfectionism and fear of failure.
but, like... isn't failure a part of life?! it's how we improve and get better, and though perfection doesn't exist, through failure we can learn and develop and get as close to perfection as we can.
incredible.
thanks, nonny! i really needed that push. 😁

What do you do in order to get a good night's sleep? Are there any methods or things that you do when you are struggling to sleep?

urlsareshittbh’s Profile Photourlsareshittbh
haha, i've given up on having a good night's sleep...
i doubt i'll be able to sleep well on a consistent basis until leon is old enough to not wake me up a number of times throughout the night. 😅

Which television/cable channel do you watch the most? What's your favourite television show/programme on that channel?

we don't really watch tv much in this house. we normally stick to netflix or stan, but i prefer netflix.
original netflix shows i've watched and like:
- sense8
- santa clarita diet
- jessica jones
- stranger things
- black mirror
i used to love orange is the new black, too, but i got over it as soon as i learnt my favourite character was killed off.

Favourite song recently ?

idk if i have a favourite, but here are the most recent songs i've added to my 'favourites' on spotify:
symphony - clean bandit ft. zara larsson
what i need - hayley kiyoko ft. kehlani
human - rag'n'bone man
feeling good - avicii
i'd like to change the world (matstubs remix) - jetta
the last two were thanks to the season 2 christmas special of sense8!

I'm throwing these questions right back at chah!! ... but I don't care! There's no time for creativity when you have important questions like: 1) What was you favorite Disney song as a child? 2) What is your favorite Disney song now?

as a child? hard to say. maybe "i just can't wait to be king"?
as for now, i can't say i have just *one* favourite, lol. here are a few i love:
- circle of life / be prepared (the lion king)
- i'll make a man out of you (mulan)
- go the distance (hercules)
- this is halloween / what's this? (the nightmare before christmas)
- how far i'll go / we know the way / song of the ancestors (moana)
- one jump ahead / friend like me / prince ali (aladdin)

Have you ever been on a plane? How was the journey did you have any complications?

yes. my first plane ride was in 2016, while i was pregnant.
we flew from one side of australia to the other for my brother-in-law's wedding.
no complications, thankfully.

If a you go to a puppy farm and realise that it's run very badly so you buy the last two puppies in order to get them out of there do you think you've done a more positive thing or negative thing by continuing to give the puppy farmer money? Along with supply=demand. What should you do?(sent to all)

urlsareshittbh’s Profile Photourlsareshittbh
i see that as a wholly negative thing. if i bought the puppies, i'd have to report the farmer afterwards; i'm not going to let something like that slide. honestly, i'd prefer to just report it and help get them shut down because i don't want to contribute at all to the inhumane treatment of animals.

What are some of the things you have to do everyday/almost everyday but hate doing them? (I hate brushing my hair)

would it be in poor form for me to say... existing?
don't worry, i'm not a danger to myself. i may live with horrible depression, but i'm fortunately stable enough to keep on keeping on.
existing feels like a blanket of despair and futility on my shoulders most of the time, so i can be very unmotivated to do anything. i have to force myself to do a lot of the things i need to do for my wellbeing.

Do you work better in a team or as an individual?

Nitrogen5’s Profile Photo°•Donovan•°
i can get very fixated on what *i* want to do for a task or project, and i tend to get stressed if someone changes the scenario, so it's probably better for everyone if i work alone. 😂
that being said, whenever i'm forced to work within a team, i find that some of my best qualities come out. i can be a great leader if need be, and i try to make sure everyone is involved and using their strengths so our task is completed successfully.

Do you love going to the cinema or watch at home? why?

both, but i love going to the cinema! the experience is like none other. getting snacks, sitting in a comfy seat, and watching as the film you're excited for starts up on a big screen... that's the good life!
i also focus on movies better when i watch them at the cinema, haha.
