usually I think it's a good idea but this most recent relationship I was in, we were "friends" before we started actually dating and as soon as the words boyfriend/girlfriend were said, she completely flipped and started being incredibly rude and dismissive. and would ghost me for hours and hours at a time.. sometimes as long as a half of year.... personally I don't think it matters, mutual respect isn't something that just all of a sudden springs up outta nowhere.. iykyk
