Is it ok for me to say I have Asperger’s even though it’s an outdated and offensive term, it’s one I identify the most with. People do not believe me when I say I have autism.

If you feel that terminology helps you better communicate your needs to people then yes, it is okay. People are always debating what terms are correct when it comes to dissability.
I have autism too and I use terms like high functioning or mild autism to describe myself and some people find that offensive. But people don't understand me when I just say "I'm autistic" so frankly I'm gonna keep using the words that make it easier for others to understand my needs.
It’s outdated and offensive? Wait so what should one call it then? Apparently I’m on the spectrum and that’s what I have but the doc said it’s not called that anymore.
Hahaha! The DSM-V has labeled you autistic & you've told people that s***?! lol! Oh! Wtf? If you were once diagnosed with Ausperger's, I'd continue with that & it's not offensive. Having to convince someone you're autistic is offensive as hell. Stick with the DSM-IV-TR...
