why did ur parents give u it if it's meant to be given by your partner?
Well that is their promise ring handed down to me, totally separate to my partner's promise ring if he wants to give me a promise ring. My parents both promised that when they had a daughter that on her 15th birthday they would pass the promise ring to her. It's a family heirloom, just like when some grandmother's or mother's give their sons their ancestor's wedding ring to give to their significant other. The promise ring given by my parents doesn't mean that I will be getting married soon, it means that their love continued even when they had children of their own.
What is a promise ring?
I feel as though not that many couples use them anymore but when a couple is dating at one point in their relationship, usually the man gives a promise ring to their woman promising/letting her know that they're the only one for them. Which also may imply that at some point he is going to ask her to be his wife but it's just not the right time yet. It's like the pre-engagement ring. Not sure what are the norms today but that's what my parents did.

Whoever it was you fell out with, I assume you want nothing to do with that person again, correct? Well my question os this: Do you think that person would bother contacting you if you don't want to know that person anymore?
I feel like you're asking the wrong person but I find that they probably would and honestly, I don't know why they would start to contact me again especially since we haven't spoken in months. I find that to make no sense. I cry and I move on, that's how it works for me.

That is very true. Very true indeed. The same thing as you don't get to choose who you fall in love with either. Or who you really adore even when they want nothing to do with you. All choices we don't get to make :(

They did explain. And it's not so much the way I was lied to but the fact that I was lied to. If you can't base a friendship with trust then why bother making the friendship? I find that it makes no sense for one to lie because of an insecurity. (And if this "person" is you, at least be front with me. If not then just disregard)
