Probably mother's side.
My parents emigrated from Vietnam, and our extended family still lives overseas in Vietnam; therefore, I haven't met my grandparents. My mother's side of the family is very humble from what I understand, since they grew up in poverty and have really appreciative values. I can see that in my cousins who visited once from the US (on my mother's side).
