If you miss how someone use to be, do you think abusing, degrading, devaluing and discarding is a valid method to repair the damages?

When a person appears to "change" drastically, is there an actual shift or are we finally seeing one's true character? In my opinion, it is the latter and we can't miss what never existed. One reaps what one sows and if damages are to be repaired, it should not be difficult to recognize who bears the burden.
