and that is the problem. People stick to these stereotypes, and MRA want to get rid of them. Even the worst feminazis out there (not calling you one), should appreciate the irony that men are trying to get rid of a stereotype that holds them mostly in a higher regard.

um
not all women, feminists or not, consider it 'holding them in high regard'
actually a lot of them think it's fucking patronising

I know they're not equal, but say a couple with a child get divorced, the mother takes priority of the father. Single fathers are looked down on, where as single mothers are strong mothers. If a man verbally abuses a women people react quicker, but if a woman verbally abuses a man, "he deserves it".

Uh huh. And those come from a male-dominated society.
Women are stereotyped as carers and baby-makers and housewifes. Men are stereotyped as being poorer carers and meant for going out and working and bringing home money, not looking after children. Sexist attitudes like these are something feminists want to get rid of. Stereotypes are harmful.
Likewise, women are stereotyped as being 'Fragile' 'Delicate' etc., so when they're abused by males that man is called a 'woman beater'. Men are meant to be (stereotyped as) strong and hard, so when males are abused by women they're 'weak' or 'a pussy'. Again, stereotypes, enforced by a male-dominated society.
Also, funnily enough, I've heard the opposite in terms of single parents; that single fathers are the ones lauded for their bravery, while single mothers are called 'sluts' or 'whores' for caring for a child alone. Either way... Stereotypes.
Fuck gender roles. Fuck stereotypes.

Yes, it is true that in alot of areas, men dominate women, but there are also alot where women dominate men. my personal MRA belief is to make both of those areas more equal, but when you claim men have less rights than women in a certain part of life then people ignore you.

"a lot"
name these?
If you really think that the number of men's issues in society are anywhere near equal to those of women... You're just wrong, really.

Heres another example: some muslims are extremists who want to overthrow the west, but of course, it would be extremely unfair and racist to treat any and all muslims with at best suspicion and a worst outright hatred because of the actions/beliefs of just one section. Right? Thats not a thing we d

I have yet to see a convincing argument that MRAs are doing anything except fighting feminists in order to keep hold of a male dominant society.

Even so, it's obvious why some people get upset if those people say they are feminists. Even if 99% of Feminists want equality, that 1% can and will ruin it for the rest. Same with MRA in a way, most will want equality in areas where women dominate more, but very few want complete male domination.:)

Urgh most MRAs I've had to deal with are just misogynistic 'anti-feminists' that do very little except moan about the various ways they've been wronged by feminism, spewing bullshit statistics to support their claims that the world is a feminist matriarchy and that men are some sort of endangered species
They don't need to want male domination. They have it. They're fighting any shift away from that, which is the problem.

Would you agree though, that there are feminists out there who do want female dominance more than equality? I'm not saying they're in aber, more that they do exist somewhere in the world.

The thing is
feminism is about equality
so that's not feminism
dismissing feminism based off those who genuinely don't want equality and want women and only women to run the world would be like dismissing the Conservative party because of the EDL (not that the tories aren't shit, i just couldn't think of a better example)

Just thought you should know that while there are some MRA who just downright hate feminists because they believe all feminists believe in female domination, I personally like to see both sides, so here's some anon MRA love to combat all the MRA hate. We really should catch up some time.

I'm glad you think so? I'm highly critical of MRAs but it's nice to know there may be some that aren't just anti-feminist idiots. I still see the movement as redundant, at best (harmful at worst); feminism aims for equality which means that EVERYONE is equal. Men's issues, where extant, are put down to being a result of the same institution that causes female oppression - since feminism aims to knock that down, feminism actually benefits males that suffer from certain consequences of a patriarchy.

The white, male, cis, straight MRA walks morosely into the meeting room. His friends all look to him, shocked to see tears on his face. "What has happened?" they exclaim in worry. "Are you alright?" He looks at them, pain and anger in his eyes. "I just got friendzoned..." Dark times for mens rights

oh right
I'm so proud of you for standing up against me, the horrible feminist oppressor. It must have taken a great deal of strength to speak out against 'those damn feminazis' with their suppressive matriarchy that takes away all 'our men's rights!!!'. I can understand your desire to remain anonymous and it detracts in no way from your cause that you had to hide your name when leaving me passive aggressive messages that are simply STEPPING STONES ON THE ROAD TO MALE EQUALITY!!!!!

plz go for both, you're awesome, would be great to see you again :')

well if you're going then you'll definitely see me ;u; I loved birmingham last time I went and I really want to go for both days but it depends what I can sort out in that regard I guess
