Actually I tried that with my cat after I moved 🤣
He wouldn't have it tho, he'll stay an indoor cat. I'd be too scared to let him out anyway, coyotes have been snatching cats and small dogs in our neighborhood.

I've taken my cat out in the yard, he likes being outside probably cause he used to be a stray. No I've never seen that
