I had a lonely childhood for the most part but after turning 5, we moved elsewhere as a family and I met up with other Turkish kids like me. I was still not very social and resisted talking in English at the time so that made me stand out in school and I wasn’t able to have many friends because of that. I think that I’m lucky to be able to express myself more and more as I get older.
