psychic powers are considered an affliction that results from an excess of one of the seven bodily chakras. n is an empath b/c he has excess crown chakra (he calls himself an "n-path"). leo has a sonic voice due to excess throat chakra, which is why he has to speak so softly. leo likes n best b/c he doesn't have to speak much to communicate himself to him.

ken is the youngest son from a family of prestigious shamans who specialize in communing with animals. he has the ability to borrow animal attributes by making animal sounds and "talking" directly to them (even his family considers him weird). his specialty is dogs and mosquitoes.

ravi is a lightningborn elemental and has naturally white-blonde hair. can both conduct electricity and generate it from his body, but generating takes a lot of energy so he eats and sleeps a lot. natural discharge is omnidirectional so he has to touch a conductive surface/medium to direct it. he has a tendency to discharge accidentally when startled/under intense stress, standing near him feels static-y. unlike other elementals, lightningborns can't absorb energy from artificial sources (machines/sockets etc.) but they CAN absorb nearly unlimited energy, so if struck by lightning they'll become supercharged, unlike a fireborn who would probably die trying to absorb all the energy of a forest fire. when ravi was a kid he used to run around with a metal pole during storms to try and catch lightning bolts, but he never did.

hongbin is a godmarked, which are normal humans who've been cursed somehow. unlike psychics whose abilities are viewed as more of a medical condition and therefore something that can't be helped, most people are unsympathetic to outright prejudice against godmarked since the belief is that they did something to deserve their affliction. hongbin has a basilisk curse and paralyzes anyone/anything he looks in the eye. depending on his emotional state it can range from mild/temporary to deadly. he can look at people via reflection in a mirror and wearing glasses or contacts has a placebo effect of blocking the ability. he prefers colored contacts since his natural eyes look like vixx's "on and on" eyes. even with lenses he has a lot of trouble making eye contact and being social in general since he's paranoid of accidentally hurting people.

hyuk is a necromancer which is technically a branch of shamanism that supposedly died out a long time ago since it was considered dark/forbidden arts. necromancers contract w/ the dead by trading an emotion (usually love or empathy which are considered useless) and end up as weird/incomplete humans as they lack something fundamental inside them, which is part of why necromancy was so frowned on. hyuk's power manifested when he was really young. when he started seeing dead people he didn't understand what was happening and it scared the shit out of him, so he wanted to stop being afraid.
