how's the university going?:) Did you tell someone yet about mineblocks?:D

It is going well so far, but it's making me SUPER BUSY! But my roommate is nice and I'm having some fun. Except when I accidentally missed one of my classes because of a scheduling issue (my bad!). xD
One of my professors already knew about Mine Blocks and had me talk about it in class. It was a bit awkward for me, because I don't really like to talk to people about it, but it was still pretty cool. Someone in the class even told me that they already played the game before, and that they used to have a lot of fun playing it. So that was a first - something I never really expected to happen!

can you add lucky block mod?

I don't add other "mods" into Mine Blocks for the following reason:
I imagine that the reason some of these mods (like Lucky Block) aren't actually in vanilla Minecraft is because the community hasn't come to a consensus on whether or not the mod fits well enough in the game to be official. While the mods might be fun for a little while, they shouldn't be added officially, as to not mess with the players' experiences. From time to time, a mod is amazing enough to catch the Minecraft developers' attention, at which point they actually add them into the game (pistons and horses in Minecraft were inspired by mods). Then, I definitely plan to add those features to Mine Blocks! :)
Also, if I WERE to add any Minecraft mods into Mine Blocks, it'd have to be through a separate option (so you can enable it and disable it, like a real mod). This would reaaally slow down the development of the game, not to mention everyone will be asking me to copy content from hundreds of different mods - many of which should only work in a 3D world. In short, I want to focus on the features that everyone would enjoy, but not turn everyone's requests into features. I'm sure this is the same logic the Minecraft developers have in mind.
All that being said, I do add unique features into Mine Blocks quite often. Not only did I determine that most of these things were nice additions to the game, but I also realized that many people in the Minecraft community were asking the developers to add these very same things to Minecraft (just the other day someone suggested ropes in Minecraft that acted EXACTLY like they do in Mine Blocks!). Hopefully I could deduce from this, that people will enjoy the little additions I make to the game, even if they aren't from popular mods.
TL;DR No, not unless Minecraft adds it.

I'm to lazy to get up. Got any ideas on how to get food w/o getting up?

Message someone to get you food!
But wait, why don't you have a backup supply of food in arm's reach??

What qualities do you think are necessary to having a successful career path?

If you want to work for yourself, you should be passionate, adaptive, risky, and clever. Network with people who share your interests, and always seek potentially rewarding opportunities.
It helps to be able to know yourself well, so you can extract these qualities and improve them consciously :) You can't doubt yourself - believe you will succeed!

you have a lot of mobs to add next year ghasts, pigmen ,horses, iron golems ,witches, wither, whither skelatons and ocelots and i think thats it .do you think you can add these mobs in all in one update?

Don't forget silverfish, squid, villagers, shulkers, cave spiders, gaurdians, and bats.
They wont all be in one update, haha. I want to release updates a lot faster than I have been :)

Would you rather wear a snow suit in the desert or be naked in Antarctica?

Snow suit in the desert, because I could then proceed to take it off and use it to shield me from the sun. Then at night I would use it to sleep. :D

Mine Blocks 2 has far lands? 🤔

cgreenx34243’s Profile PhotoCrystal ❄️
It only really had that during the development of the world generator when I sent out that tweet long ago.
I tried again not too long ago to see if they were still there, and really if you're far enough away, things just don't show up at all. From what I could tell, there are no longer "far lands".

What will happen to the infinite worlds in MB2 at the end of Flash in browsers? D:

cgreenx34243’s Profile PhotoCrystal ❄️
I'm not sure! I mean this applies to Mine Blocks also, because multiple worlds add up quickly.
There's a weird workaround where if you enable notifications for a website, the website is allowed to access persistent storage.
So I might have to detect if space is limited and show a dialog to enable notifications if that limit is reached. :S
Or, I could add accounts and buy an Amazon server to store worlds, which would be annoying for most people, and probably pretty expensive for me xD
We'll see how it all goes I guess!

Is Haxe layered to reduce the lag of Mine Blocks? :0

cgreenx34243’s Profile PhotoCrystal ❄️
So to clarify:
- Haxe is the language I write the code in. It allows me to release games on web, PC, and mobile.
- Lime is a helpful library for connecting with OpenGL, the keyboard, mouse, and more.
- OpenGL is a "Graphics Library" that allows me to tell the graphics card to draw graphics to the screen.
- Finally, my game engine is a library that uses all of those tools to make things draw on the screen.
My goal with the game engine is to make something that is efficient, yes :)
My next optimization is batching 2D draw calls automatically, which should end up being very fast, I think. For example, instead of drawing each block individually, it will draw them all at once using a grid.
However, one problem I found is:
If a player doesn't have "hardware acceleration" enabled in their browser, the game will run at a low FPS. Games like agar.io and slither.io do not have this problem because they don't use OpenGL directly, but games like hordes.io or tanks.io do.
But my hopes are that it'll be perfectly fine otherwise :D I can do some pretty good optimizations now that I have my own rendering engine to work with.
We'll see how things go when I get started with the port. Thanks for the question!

On a scale from 1 to 10 how weird are you?

Hmm I don't think the scale works that way tbh.
Here are some recent examples of weirdness maybe?
I tried to hold back in the recent update video. But I somehow ended up putting extra effort into adding weirdness:

- Snakes playing instruments every time I said "but"
- Photoshopping Patrick on various things
- Comparing subscribers to jelly beans in a jar...
- An old man mentioning how it's hard to predict the future
- Neat, naice, *fanfare*, dog, etc
Greenbean casserole?

But yes, I do hold back. Maybe some day I'll make another game that makes less sense than "The Game That Is Random".

I was looking through the mb suggestions page and have a few questions: 1 - When will hoppers be added?? 2 - Can you pls add the ability to place backdrops behind torches slabs etc... 3 - Rockets?! That go to the moon?!?! WHAT?!?!

123hello123
Oh hey how did you find the suggestions page? I think most of the links where removed since it's disabled. :)
Anyway hoppers will be added during a dedicated redstone update in the future. First, all blocks will need to have separated logic and graphics, which will probably happen around update 1.31. So... hoppers might possibly happen after that update.
Backdrops will be able to have a separate layer once the world save structure is completely rewritten too. I was thinking this conversion could happen around 1.30 or 1.31 as well.
As you can see, rockets are labeled as a "cool suggestion" that can be spun into actual gameplay if done right. But there's no plans to add it currently. You never know though! Might be fun! :3

Will it be possible to use the right click with haxe?

Yes, because everything that is possible in Flash is also possible in Haxe! :)

How many visits does Mine Blocks currently have?! :0 :D

It's probably around 100000 visits a day, across all versions on all websites. :)
I'm not sure how many visits total though! Many millionz haha xD

Hello Zanzlanz, i'm a big fan of Mineblocks! This game is not like Minecraft, is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo better! I want to ask if you can add the Hot Chocolate to Mineblocks. If you drink 3 times (in survival) you take 1 damage beacuse is so much hot. I wait answer. Byeeeeeee

LuckyiCube52’s Profile PhotoLuckyiCube52
Hey Lucky! Thanks man, that's really nice of you to say c:
I like your suggestion btw - I'd love to add some chocolate stuff after cocoa is farmable, and hot chocolate sounds like a fun one! :)

What if Mojang liked Mine Blocks and wanted you to work with them , what would you do ?

Gosh I don't know. Probably!
I just have to keep in mind: I'm focused on college right now, I own all of the rights on my game development, and I really enjoy working alone. Everything would be turned upside-down if I worked for Mojang. I bet it would pay off in the end though - a "stable" job doing what I love, meeting amazing developers and helping build the community I always loved. Wouldn't that be the best job ever?

Will you have awesome dungeons?

I will have only the awesomest of dungeons.
If you're asking about the Mine Blocks 1.27 update - nothing is changed in the world generator :)
I'm excited to add structures to MB2 though - those will be sweet, I'm sure!
