I have done, more than once. When I was travelling in the USA I arranged to meet up with someone in a different state who I had met in a chat room.
And I travelled to Mexico once to meet up with someone else I’d met online.
It was naïve of me but I was young, and thankfully they were both good people, and I’m still in touch with them.
I’ve usually travelled alone on long-haul trips, though it’s not always the safest way to travel. It’s good if you can travel
with someone else.
