Does anyone do this and is it okay or is it not safe? drink water from your bathroom that you use to wash up, brush your teeth etc. There are times I want a drink of water, I did not bring up a water bottle and I don’t want to go downstairs to get a drink. The water in my bathroom taste fine.

it depends on where you are in the world (:
I live in the united states and receive water from a community water distribution system. they're required to release consumer confidence reports so you can see what levels of specific contaminants are in your water.
sometimes, though, there are local advisories about boiling water, like if a water main breaks or there's a chemical problem. it's always a good idea to check with your individual city or county and keep up to date with those advisories, and if something seems off, you can test the water in your home to make sure it's okay!
if you're not in the united states, or you have a different water system like well water, check online to see how it works and maybe have it tested to be safe.
for me personally, it's safe to drink the tap water in my home. I just prefer the taste of filtered water from my fridge or kitchen sink (:

i think it's okay. unless your city or county has a high level of lead in the water, then you should stop. otherwise if you don't have water by you at night and need some, it's fine. i never do it because i always have water by me at night
