How would you change the world if you could?
Personally, if I could change the world, the one thing that I'd change is the human nature towards everything around him. Being the most advanced species on the planet has given us some false notion that we're free to do whatever we want. Today we murder each other in the name of defense, religion, etc. We destroy the environment around us continuously in the name of technological advancements and betterment of the human race. We've been misusing the freedom given to us for a very long time now. Almost every other problem we see around us boils down to human nature. Take any small problem in your life and deep down you will find yourself either blaming your own actions or somebody else’s. We find it so hard to co-exist among each other that it is glaringly obvious that there is something wrong in our very nature today. The increasing rape culture in the society is because men have forgotten how to treat fellow womans as their equals in every sense. Wars are fought today because it has become human nature to fight first and talk later. I can keep going but I think this makes my point.
Now, I am not some optimistic fool who believes that there is only good in everyone. But I do believe that there is more good than bad on the whole. It is our fear of standing alone that stops us from showing the good to the world. We procrastinate and complain instead of actually doing something about it. It becomes our nature to blame everyone for our problems, except ourselves.
This is the change I would bring into the world, one person at a time. Because if we can realize the good inside of us, we can have a better today and a greater tomorrow. We just have to stand up and become the heroes of our own stories instead of expecting a higher intervention from God or some other powerful body. To inspire others by our actions and finally prove that we really are as evolved as we claim to be. I don’t wish to change the world, I want to change what makes our world. Humans.
